also known as Rainbow Coalition is a social justice movement that grew out of the SCLC operation breadbasket. Founded by Jesse Jackson and MLK PUSH sought to combine theology and social justice to help effect progressive economic, educational, and social policy in America. In 1966 Jesse Jackson was appointed as the first director of Rainbow Coalition
MLK and Jesse Jackson's FriendshipMLK was always close with Jesse Jackson and was also one of Jesse Jacksons biggest mentors and role models. Jesse Jackson was with MLK when he was assassinated at a motel in Memphis. There is a already iconic picture of MLK and his inner circle on a balcony which will be on the next page. Even up to today Jesse Jackson is still fighting for civil rights to honor his friend and mentor Martin Luther King Jr. even after his life.
